The Hellenic Energy Regulatory Authority (ERA) granted the permission for Independent Natural Gas System (INGN) to the ICGB AD Company with the No. 671/2019 Decision. The permit, notified by the competent authority on 18/07/2019, concerns the Greek part of the project of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria Pipeline (IGB). The duration of the license is 50 years.

With the issuance of the INGN license, ICGB holds all the necessary licenses for the start of the construction works of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria Pipeline (IGB), which are expected to kick off in the near future.

According to the Decision, the IGB will be connected to the National Natural Gas System (NSG), the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) as well as the Bulgarian transmission system and will strengthen Greece’s position as an energy hub, contributing to development of competition in the gas market of our country and creating benefits for both domestic consumers and consumers in Bulgaria.

The ICGB AD Company based in Bulgaria has 50% shareholders in the state-owned Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) and 50% in UNGS Poseidon SA (IGI POSEIDON). Shareholders of IGI POSEIDON include half-half DEPA INTERNATIONAL WORKS and Italian Edison.
